Welcome back — and welcome to anyone joining us for the first time.

Workshop 02 builds directly on Workshop 01 (the golf ball project) but stands completely on its own. If you’re new, we start with a 10-minute recap of everything you need. If you’re returning, you’re about to discover that everything you learned is about to get a lot more interesting.

—— WHAT’S THIS ABOUT? ——
A glass of water introduces three things the golf ball never did:
• Transparency — light passes through the subject, not just around it
• Refraction — the water bends and distorts light in ways you can learn to control
• Specular reflection — the glass surface mirrors its environment, not just the light

Backlight is the hero with transparent subjects. We’ll build the entire session around that one revelation, then layer in the skills to control and shape everything else.
